Question: Why is preparation so important?
Answer: The
key to a quality paint job is preparation. Most anyone can slap
on a coat of paint, but the key to a beautiful and long-lasting
paint job lies in the proper preparation of the surface being
worked on. It is not the easiest or most glamorous part of the
job, but it is the key to a quality job.
Question: When Stripping wallpaper, why is it necessary to
wash the walls?
Answer: Whether
you are hanging new paper or painting the walls, after removing
the existing wallpaper, you must thoroughly wash all the wallpaper
paste off to insure proper adhesion of the new paint or wallpaper.
Your local professional paint store can guide you towards the
best paper removing solution for your needs and direct you on
how to use the product correctly.
Question: What's the Difference between High and Low-Pressure
washing?
Answer: Low-pressure
means using a light rinse of solution followed by a rinse ofwater
to remove debris and mold. The difference with high-pressure is
after applying the solution we follow with a high pressure rinse
which actually removes a "layer" of wood pulp from the
single and gets them as close to "new" as possible.
We recommend this procedure to be followed by applying a stain.
Question: Will Powerwashing damage my shrubs and plants, or
my house?
Answer: We
use a combination of bleach, Jomax â and water then treated
with 100% water rinse down and has been very successful for us.
However we don't recommend this in 80-90° high humidity days
in the summertime.
Question: Just how important is
it to make sure your contractor is insured?
Answer:
Always verify the contractor is licensed
and insured. Quality contracting firms will be only too
happy to provide you with copies of their certificates of insurance.
Many homeowners who hire help are not aware of the potential legal
hassles that can ensue when an accident occurs on their property.
Workers, such as the kid mowing the lawn, the housekeeper tidying
up your home for a big party, or the landscaper planting your
annuals, could suffer an injury while on your property. After
an accident, you may be financially liable for the worker's injuries
and disabilities, and your homeowners insurance policy may not
cover you in the event of a lawsuit. .
