RESTORATION

At Peacock Painting we "Pride" ourselves on superior restoration work. The preparation is the "main ingredient" of a superior paint job and this is what separates us from others. We understand how the attention to detail makes or breaks a job from a "good" paint job to a "terrific" paint job.

POWERWASHING & SHINGLE RESTORATION

We use a combination of bleach, water and "Jomax" â to clean your outside surfaces prior to any sanding and scraping. Bleach is however the only chemical that will kill mold & mildew. The climate here on the Cape promotes these fungi due to the damp Springs we endure along with the shrubbery and other various vegetation that people have around their homes. Combine that with sprinkler systems constantly on and the growth of these funguses are sure to flourish.

We apply an environmentally safe mixture on the surfaces then use straight water to rinse off. This is generally enough.

At times we use a high-pressure system to strip shingles of mildew damage. This takes more time as we actually remove a layer of wood pulp from the outer surface. We only do this procedure when we are going to re-stain the house with a semi-transparent oil base (usually) Gray tone stain. This seems to be the look of choice on Cape Cod.
